Ayesha Ghafoor is a Senior Vice President in the Public Policy and Government Affairs team at BNY. Her main areas of responsibility are UK and EU capital markets and post-trade policy, engaging with political and regulatory stakeholders.

Prior to joining BNY, Ayesha worked at UK Finance, as a Principal in its Capital Markets and Wholesale team. She represented UK Finance member views on secondary markets and post-trade policy with politicians and regulators at the international and national level, with a focus on the UK’s regulatory reform agenda. Ayesha started her career at Barclays Investment Bank, undertaking various roles within its Operations division, as well as its Government Relations team.

Ayesha graduated with an MA in International Studies and Diplomacy from SOAS and a BA in European Studies and Spanish from Royal Holloway, University of London.
